International Home Sales in Murcia Double in Last Decade

International clients buy twice as many homes as ten years ago in the Region of Murcia
Home sales to international buyers have increased by more than 50% in ten years: the first half of 2025 ended with just under 4,000 transactions.
This figure represents an annual increase of 3.1% (compared to 3,841 last year), according to the latest data from the Spanish Council of Notaries for the first half of the year.
The most striking growth can be seen over the longer term: while in the same period of 2016, 1,905 transactions were recorded, the 3,959 transactions registered this year represent an increase of 107%.

A well-established property market
The real estate market for foreign buyers is now firmly established in the region. Foreigners have long been aware of the factors that make Murcia a preferred location for property investment:

These buyers currently pay an average of €1,492 per square metre, which represents a 12% increase compared to last year.
In terms of nationalities, British buyers accounted for nearly 30% of purchases in the first six months of the year, followed by the Dutch with 15%.
