There are 446 golf courses in Spain whereof 106 are located in Andalucia. That might not be a surprise since the weather in the most southern part of the country is optimal for playing golf. Last year, in 2019, La Galiana Golf in Valéncia became the winner of the annual World Golf Awards for Spain’s best golf course. With its 18 hole layout, this prime golf course has a driving range for up to 15 players at one time. They also offer a fully equipped caddyshack for golf tuition, including video analysis and technical help.  The golf course was designed by Felipe RodrÃguez Llanos (Agricultural Technical Engineer) and it ranges from 6,201 metres in length from the white “tiger†tees to 5,050 metres from the reds. The greens are of Agrostis Stolonifera T-1. The rest of the course are set up by Lolium Perenne Grand Slam II variety.  Let the round begin![/caption]
Next on our list we picked out for being not only popular but also for having a mission to stay sustainable and eco friendly. With its 63 holes, Arabella Golf Mallorca is one of the biggest golf resorts in Spain and has 4 luxury golf courses in Palma de Mallorca. One of them, called Golf Son Vida, was also the first golf course in Mallorca (inaugurated in 1964). It’s known for its beauty, old majestic trees and unbeatable views over Palma bay. Arabella – San Vida Golf[/caption] Two PGA tournaments have been held here. Another Arabella-course is Golf Son Quint – a very trendy and stylish course that offers a wide play range. If you are a beginner, Golf Son Quint Pitch + Putt is probably the better option since handicap isn’t required here. At Golf Son Muntaner you can observe and admire the “Na Capitanaâ€, which is the oldest millenary olive tree in Mallorca. Â
This place is not only top world class, but extraordinarily beautiful! It also preserves its nature and is a sanctuary for a number of animal species. Valderrama in Sotogrande, Costa del Sol, is the home of many competitions and championships, starting back in the 1970’s. Our favourite hole here is number 17 for its fairy tale look and feel.
A state of the art creation by one of the largest banks in Europe - Golf Santander was designed partly by Steve Bellesteros. Being quite tough and long, its fairways will truly test your golfing abilities. Although, it is also fitted for all experience levels. It’s also a popular event venue for team buildings, special seminar events, competitions and more.
